Chrystal Halliday care facility is located north of the river at Karrinyup, close to Karrinyup shopping centre and bus routes to the north and south. The original Chrystal Halliday Nursing Homes was opened October 9th 1971 for 24 high care residents and 20 low care. However over the years it has been upgraded and an additional five houses built for low care residents thus now providing care to a mix of 64 residents. The original 20 low care are now used to provide assisted living to frail aged residents in serviced units.
High and Low Care - Services provided to high and low care residents include personal and clinical nursing care, therapy services and emotional wellbeing support. Residents in the high care have shared rooms and ablutions while the low care residents have single rooms with ensuite bathrooms.
Serviced Units - Residents in the serviced apartments, which are bedsits, are provided with hotel services and one care service per day, other services are provided on a user pay basis.
Communal facilities include dining rooms, various lounge rooms, activity rooms, hairdressers, small shop, doctors room and allied health services.
Independent Living Units - Chrystal Halliday has 39 independent living units and 38 x 1 bedroom units and 1 x 2 bedroom unit. The units are surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens which are maintained by a contract gardener.
