Elimatta has 42 hostel care places, including 15 dementia specific places, 1 respite.

Services

Hostels - Low Band Care

Provide personal care and assistance with the activities of daily living, such as showering, dressing, bed making etc.

Accommodation

There are 25 hostel care places plus 1 low band respite room. All are single rooms with an en suite, each resident supplies their own furniture including a bed and are encouraged to bring with them their personal items.

Meals

Meals are taken in the dining room.

Activities

Residents are encouraged to participate in various activities which are organised by the Therapy Team. Concerts are held at least twice a month. Special functions include Easter hat parade, Christmas luncheon, Melbourne Cup luncheon and Australia Day BBQ. There is a bus trip once a month for those residents who wish to 'get out and about'

Some of the advantages of 'village' living :

Residents have the companionship of other residents and sense of community and security whilst maintaining a flexible and independent lifestyle.

  • We take care of repairs in your unit and maintenance of common grounds.
  • You are encouraged to participate in the life of the village community as well as maintaining your involvement with the wider community.
Services

Services provided are all meals, heavy laundry, administering supervision of medication. In addition, for those with slightly greater need, we will do personal laundry, make beds and clean your unit. Access to this sort of accommodation and care is based on assessed need.

Dementia Specific

Elimatta provides 15 dementia specific places. All rooms are single with an en suite, the resident supplies their own furniture including a bed and are encouraged to bring in personal items.
The same services are provided as for Low band care to these residents and in addition the 'Sunshine Club' has been established to encourage dementia specific residents with like abilities to participate in activities. Aromatherapy services are available.

Meals

The residents have their own dining room where daily meals are taken.

Other Services
  • Podiatrist - once a month. There is a charge to the resident for this service
  • Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services are provided.
  • Hairdresser - weekly. There is a charge to the resident for this service
  • Aroma Therapist - weekly. There is a charge to Low Band residents for this service. (High band residents do not pay.)
  • Laundry service is provided
