Pilgrim is a low care residential facility made up of a variety of accommodaton and services including including 24 low care places, , 15 low care Dementia Specific and 10 independent living units (ILU's).
In 1956, the late Reverend John Bryant of the Congregational Church purchased an old home in East Fremantle named ‘Lockerley’ with funds raised by many farming friends and supporters. They renamed the home ‘Pilgrim House’ and opened it to frail aged people in the Fremantle area.
In 1975, the old home was demolished and replaced with a Hostel of 38 hostel rooms, four communal ablution blocks, one large dining room and lounge room. TenIndependentLiving Units were built alongside the hostel.
Major renovations were completed in 1998 to meet Aged Care Standards.
Today, Pilgrim is a beautifully appointed 39 bed facility with private ensuite bathrooms which enjoys both ocean and river views from the foyer. The independent living units also remain.
