Site Description

The St David's Retirement Village is located in the heart of Mount Lawley.  It is a short walk to the Beaufort Street shops and cafes, cinema and medical services and a five minute bus ride to the city.  The views from the independent living units of Thrum House are amazing.

Services

 

St David's has a variety of accommodation and services including:-

  •  45 hostel places
  •  55 independent living units (ILU's)
  •  19 serviced units
  •  1  respite room (unfunded)
 
Hostel - Low Band Residential Care

45 single hostel rooms are available each with its own ensuite and private balcony within a three story complex.  The rooms are comfortable each with plenty of built-in cupboard and storage space.

Entry to the Hostel requires an aged care assessment referred through your GP as well as the centrelink asset assessment.  On entry an accommodation bond may be payable which is 'means tested' and levied on the resident's ability to pay.  The minimum fortnightly care fee is based on 85% of the full (single) aged pension.

Meals

All meals are provided from dining room settings located on the Ground and 2nd floors. Family and friends are welcome to join residents.

Therapy/Activities

All residents have access to Occupational and Physiotherapy services.  Activity programs are planned according to residents needs, abilities, cultural and social needs.  Located on 1st floor.

Independent Living Units

The St David's centre includes 55 independent living units.

Thrum House

Thrum House provides 35 apartments on the third to tenth floors of this high rise building.

Single apartments include a kitchen, lounge/dining area, bedroom and ensuite.  Double apartments have comprise the same living area but have two bedrooms each with its own ensuite.  All apartments have private single or double balconies ideal for an elegant outdoor setting for taking in the breathtaking views, south over the Swan River towards Ascot or north overlooking the leafy suburb of Mount Lawley and beyond

An accommodation bond is payable and varies according to the size of the apartment and location (floor).  A fortnightly maintenance fee is charged.  (Refer to Fees and Charges)

Cottages

Twenty cottage units within two blocks (Cromarty and Dunoon) are located in the grounds around Thrum House, most are single bedroom
All cottages have a kitchen, lounge/dining area, bedroom with ensuite, built in wardrobes and cupboards.  Laundry facilities are located centrally on the ground floor of Thrum House and in 'C' Cottages.
An accommodation bond is payable with some concessional vacancies available to qualifying residents.

Serviced Units

The St David's Centre has 19 serviced units.

Serviced units are part of the independent living complex.  Services are provided by staff to resident couples who may experience difficulty with some aspects of living independently.  Services include meals, cleaning, laundry or assistance with a personal task or medication administration.

An accommodation bond is payable and varies according to the size of the apartment and location (floor.)  The minimum fortnightly care fee is based on 85% of the full (single) aged pension.
