St David’s is located north of the river in the heart of Mt Lawley a short walk to the Beaufort Street shops and cafes, cinema and medical services and a five minute bus ride to the city. The views from the independent living units of Thrum House are amazing.
Low Care
Low care is accommodated within a three story building in 46 single rooms with private balconies. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms and a nurse call system to enable residents to access care in emergencies.
Each resident is provided with a bed, over bed table, a chair, built in wardrobe, and bed side locker. If a resident wishes to furnish their own room this must be discussed with the manager as all furniture must meet WorkSafe/OH&S requirements.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own personal items to personalise their rooms however, everyone must be mindful that the room should remain uncluttered at all times.
Communal rooms include dining rooms on each floor, activity/lounge rooms, a chapel and hairdressers.
Services provided include personal and basic clinical nursing care, therapy services and emotional wellbeing support.
Serviced Units
Residents in the serviced units, which are bedsits, are provided with hotel services (cleaning, laundry and meals) and one care service per day, others services are provided on a user pay basis.
Communal facilities include dining rooms, various lounge rooms, activity rooms, hairdressers, small shop/cafe, GP and allied health services.
Independent Living Units
The St David's has 55 independent living units consisting of:
Thrum House which is a high rise with 35 apartments on the third to tenth floors. There is a mixture one bedroom one bathroom and two bedroom two bathroom units
Cottages
There are twenty cottage units within two blocks (Cromarty and Dunoon) which are located in the grounds around Thrum House, most are single bedroom with communal laundries.
