Site Description

Trinity Hostel is situated on the Rowethorpe site on the corner of Rivergum and Tranby Way (entrance off Hayman Road). Trinity Hostel was opened in 1982 and the use of ‘Trinity’ as a name had both a Uniting Church significance as well as actually comprising three wings. The hostel is home to 52 residents (including one respite). There are six two-bedroom suites (with shared bathrooms) and the remainder are individual rooms with ensuites. There is use of a central dining room with various lounge areas throughout the facility. Administration for Trinity Hostel is situated in the front entrance.

Services

 

Under the Aged Care Act, Trinity Hostel provides:

  • Hotel services (eg: administration, maintenance of buildings and grounds; Accommodation basic furnishings; bedding; cleaning services; general laundry; meals and refreshments; social activities; emergency assistance; and
  • Residential care services (eg: personal assistance [bathing, showering etc]; treatments and procedures; nursing services; etc). Where residents classified as needing high care, other specific care and services are then provided.
  • Trinity Hostel has a Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapist overseeing an activities program carried out by Therapy Assistants. Residents have the opportunity to go on bus outings.

Hostel - Low Band Residential Care

Trinity is a 52 bed hostel established in 1982. It is designed with 3 wings all of which have a central courtyard where furniture is provided to encourage the "great" outdoors. The main entrance is at the top of a circular driveway with a fountain and on either side we have masses of Azaleas and Camellias. There are 2 double rooms in each wing which share a bathroom and are suitable for married couples as well as being wheelchair accessible. The remaining rooms have an ensuite and a built in wardrobe. At present the rooms are gradually being refurbished with new carpets. For all care needs we have a "stand-up" on each night. We have the services of an Clinical Nurse 3 days per week.

Meals

    We have a central Dining area where residents are encouraged to take their time and enjoy the social atmosphere. Barbeques are available in the courtyards.

Activitie

    For lots of fun and activities we have 3 OTAs who work various hours. Access to the Rowethorpe bus enables us to keep in touch with the community and many outings for lunches, picnics and shopping are undertaken. The Activity room is always busy with lively discussions being held over a cup of tea each morning. We have a library with a comprehensive range of large and small print books.
    Church services are held in the Music room each week with all denominations being represented. Chaplaincy services are available at all times and contacts are made for those with specific spiritual needs.

  • Victoria Medical Group have an on site Surgery and there is also a Pharmacy.
  • Various visiting GPs
  • Hairdresser visits Trinity Hostel approximately once per week.
  • The Rowethorpe site also has a chapel, pharmacy and hairdresser.
