School Based Traineeships at UCH
School Based Traineeships at UCH provide an opportunity for full time year 11 and 12 secondary school students to begin preparing themselves for a career in aged care. They allow a student studying towards the WA Certificate of Education to also gain a nationally recognised vocational education and training qualification, usually at Certificate II level.
Under a school based traineeship arrangement, there is an agreement between the school, the students, the parents of the student and UCH. The arrangement includes allowing the student to be released for 1 – 2 days per week, depending on the year of schooling, and undertake 832 hours of paid employment (at least 8 hours per week).
School Based Traineeships are available in many areas. UCH specialises in the areas of:
- Certificate II in Business
- Certificate II in Hospitality – Catering Services
